We have the rare opportunity to work collaboratively within a fantastic Primary School and well-resourced environment as an Academy Healthcare & Welfare Officer. The role is to provide medical care for children and to take a lead role in the implementation of the Supporting Pupils with Medical Conditions policy. This is an all through academy and much of your time will be spent looking after the Primary Phase pupils, however there will be crossover with the Secondary Phase pupils, as well as being actively involved in the promotion of health throughout the Academy, and within our local community of parents. The role also involves assisting the Primary Attendance Officer in all day to day matters relating to children’s attendance and punctuality.

We are based in West London/Ealing. This position is to commence as soon as possible. The working week is 36 hours from Monday to Friday starting at 8am. This is a term-time only position plus Professional Development days which are usually at the beginning of each term. The salary is from £22,000 per annum and has already been pro rated.

**Skills & Experience needed**:

- Current First Aid at Work certificate (3 day course) and/or Paediatric First Aid certificate
- GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Excellent understanding of the emotional and medical issues that impact on the lives of Primary & Secondary Phase pupils
- Experience in being tactful, patient and able to stay calm in an emergency
- Good communication skills, both written and oral and confident user of ICT
- Knowledge and experience of Primary aged children with allergies, and using EpiPens
