Sedgemoor Manor School are recruiting for a cook to join their catering team We are looking for passionate people, who can promote healthy eating and provide varied meals that meet the required care standards and contribute to the wellbeing of our Children and Young People. In this role, you will be responsible for the cooking within the home as well as the menu planning, shopping and adhering to set budgets within the home to deliver healthy, varied and nutritious diets for young people and the staff within the home. In addition, be responsible for the ensuring that the kitchen and associated areas are kept to a high standard of hygiene, including food and equipment storage.

Sedgemoor Manor is a specialist day school registered for young people who have needs associated with a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum/SPLD and are aged between 10 and 18 years. Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of learning difficulties. We accept that young people who are referred to us may have previously experienced a ‘cycle of failure’ and our aim is to have a transformational impact on their lives by them experiencing a ‘culture of success’. We support all young people to achieve successful outcomes so that they can progress to experience fulfilling and rewarding lives. We offer bespoke packages of education and therapy for our young people. We strongly believe that some individuals will always struggle to ‘fit in’ to existing structures and will only thrive when their provision is tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. Previous experience preparing and cooking meals gained within a professional kitchen environment if preferable, however training will be available.

**Communication** - Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.

**Organisation** -You will need to be confident and organised in updating menus, dietary requirements and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.

**Attentive** - No young person is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
