**Permanent Full Time Dispenser over 4 days (35hrs/week)**

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- To work in accordance with the high-quality standards set by the practice in the Dispensary.
- Working to standard operating procedures at all times.
- To work and liaise with the Dispensary Manager/ Dispensers daily.
- Ensuring a secure audit procedure is adhered to for all repeat prescription requests to prevent mislaid or inaccurate prescriptions.
- Produce repeat prescriptions for both dispensing and non-dispensing patients.
- Dispense acute and repeat prescriptions according to approved standard operating procedures.
- Dispense weekly prescriptions into daily dosage packs where required.
- Ensure checking procedures in the dispensing process are adhered to for the transfer of medication to the patient.
- To make referrals to the GP as deemed appropriate.
- Assist with accurate maintenance of filling systems, both electronic and paper, to ensure documents can be readily retrieved when required.
- Maintain stock and order systems for medication, dressings, and appliances in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Deal with incoming calls and queries as appropriate.
- To ensure all financial transactions are actioned according to standard operating procedures.
- Adhere to the NHS code of confidentiality, ensuring that data relating to patients is not discuss without clinical need.
- To engage in all risk management practices ensuring the safe delivery of dispensing services.
- Understand and adhere to the practice health and safety policy.
- To engage in staff meetings/dispensary meetings.
- To engage in personal and professional development through annual appraisal.
- To maintain dispensary skills and knowledge by attending relevant training courses.
- Undertake additional duties as necessary.

**About our surgery**

Market Rasen Surgery provides Primary Medical Services to the population of Market Rasen and surrounding areas. This covers approximately 10,500 patients. The practice provides a full range of medical and clinical services and is a training practice for Nurses, trainee Clinical Pharmacists and those Doctors wishing to become General Practitioners.

We have an essential role to play in the medical supply chain, everything that we do as a surgery will ultimately impact upon the end user 'the patient'.
