**Scarfer** **Day Shift - Port Talbot Site, Runtech Ltd**

This includes the removal of surface defects from and resizing of cast steel using a variety of oxygen and fuel gas burning equipment.

Duties
- The safe operation of gas and oxygen burning equipment to carry out the safe and efficient processing of steel slabs and the completion of relevant paperwork within the Slab Processing department.
- To operate overhead and portal cranes for the transportation of steel slabs within the Slab Processing operations.

Accountabilities
- To conform to legislative and Company Health & Safety policy and requirements including the reporting of any defects, hazards and accidents.
- Provide services in line with customer requirement and to carry out tasks in line with work instruction / procedures and health and safety procedures at all times.
- Carry out pre-start machine inspections in line with Company policy.
- Operate mobile plant in accordance with licensing, Health and safety and site requirements
- Communicate with the customer, Team Leader and Operations Co-ordinators to ensure any issues or areas of concern are reported.
- Proactively look for continuous improvements within area of responsibility.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Essential
- Proven experience with gas and oxy burning equipment
- Comfortable communicating with their colleagues and external suppliers/clients
- A team player who can enjoy a challenge.
- Full Driving Licence

Desirable
- Experience of working in Heavy Industry.

- Working Monday - Thursday 06.00 : 18.00 (4 x 12 hour day shifts)
- Annual Salary of £31,362.00 per annum (paid weekly)
- Auto enrolled onto the company pension scheme
- 30 days holiday per year inclusive of Bank holidays
