D R Newitt are excited to work with a well-established and distinguished seafood business based in Annan, searching for a QA Manager to maintain their already high standards.
Our client are one of the UKs largest specialist seafood brands and want a dynamic QA Manager to champion their continuous improvement culture.
**The role**:
- Directly responsible for team of five on 2-shift pattern Monday to Friday.
- Ensure ownership of Allergen management, GMP, HACCP, food safety and legality at all levels whilst always driving continuous improvements.
- Working with the cross functional teams to ensure full compliance with all company and customer requirements including maintenance and improvement of BRC A standard.
- Key liaison for Technical activities for internal and external customers.
- Lead customer visits as required.
- Provide technical input into product trials and launches as required.
- Lead investigations into customer complaints and queries.
- Monitor standards of factory hygiene and manufacturing standards through regular audits and inspections.
- Assist, and where necessary lead third party and customer audits i.e.: BRC. Preparing and coordinating corrective action close out where applicable (including Root Cause Analysis).
- Co-ordinate and implement microbiological and chemical testing schedules, ensuring testing requirements meet site, customer and BRC protocols.
- Minimum HND (or equivalent) in Food Technology related discipline.
- Advanced Food Safety Certificate.
- Level 3 HACCP qualification.
- Prior experience in a Quality Manager role.
- Food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Lead Auditor and Internal Auditor qualification.
- Sound understanding of BRC and Customer COP’s with experience of leading and conducting audits.
- Understanding of factors influencing food safety and means of controlling these.
**Benefits**:
- Indicative Salary - Up to £35,000, dependant on experience.
- Life assurance.
- Holidays are 23 days per year, + 8 of public holidays. After 2 years’ service goes up to 33 days.
