North Tyneside Talking Therapies Service (NTTTS) is a long established Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Service, providing psychological input to the North Tyneside population since 2008. Following its inception, the NTTTS continues to grow and develop so that it can provide patients and service users with integrated evidence based IAPT treatments as well as Counselling and Psychology as part of a holistic approach to Psychological Therapies using a stepped care model.

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of IAPT - Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP’s).

NTTTS service currently operates Monday
- Friday covering some evening work.

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week.

The IAPT PWP’s will play a critical role in helping shape the future direction of the NTTTS by delivering high quality evidence based evidence based psychological therapies for people with common mental health problems (depression and anxiety disorders), delivered in a variety of modalities including over the telephone/video, face to face, or online, both individually and in groups. The role is a deliberately varied one which has a balance between undertaking assessments and holding a clinical caseload. All of our PWP’s are involved in delivering Guided Self Help, Psychoeducation Courses and Computerised programmes.

As a service, we have actively responded to the pandemic and have made significant changes to the way the service is delivered. We have adopted approved technology to providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions remotely and all staff are provided with the correct equipment to work a flexible approach of home/base working.

The post-holder will work within the Primary Care Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Service providing high volume low intensity psychological interventions; these comprise a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions to assist clients who experience mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety and depression.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, will respect diversity, and will be committed to equal opportunities.

The post holder will recognise the importance of peoples rights, and act in accordance with legislation, polices and procedures. To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

This post can be offered as remote working.
