**Nursery Practitioner**

**Babes in the Wood **is seeking a fully qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our team in Stonehaven.

**Duties include**:

- Planning:

- To develop, implement and work as part of the staff team to provide high quality learning experiences, based on a child-centred approach and working within the early Years Curriculum framework. - To ensure that all required paperwork is completed timeously, correctly and shared with the relevant people. - To act as a Key Worker for children with additional support needs and contribute to their Child Plan and plan for their individual needs.

**Managing Operations**: - To be aware of and work within the standards and requirements of the Care Inspectorate, HMIE and the local Education Department. - To attend to the immediate/basic needs of children when injured/sick, maintain first aid/medical equipment and records - To undertake hygiene duties for babies and children including toileting, changing nappies and clothing and clean up children who have been sick - To be responsible for the reporting of maintenance and the follow up to ensure completion of tasks and a safe working environment for all.

**Managing People**: - To work as a member of the Nursery Team and establish good and effective relationships with the children, staff and parents. - To be responsive and adaptable to the needs of the children. - To act as a keyworker for a group of individual children and families. - To contribute to the support of volunteers and students.

**Managing Resources**: - To create a welcoming and calming environment for all children. - To ensure the maintenance of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds and stages of development. -To implement health and safety standards, ensuring that the playroom and equipment are kept in good order and repair. - To organise and supervise age appropriate activities to encourage the emotional, social, physical, creative and intellectual development of the children.

**Managing Information**: - To have a sound knowledge of child development 0-5 years and be able to respond to the differing needs of individual children. - To ensure observations, assessments, reporting and recording procedures are carried out. - To maintain records on each child using: a
- Children’s profiles b-Summative reports c-Transition records - To report to parents on children’s progress - To adhere to all Nursery Policies and Procedures, including attendance at staff meetings To ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

**Salary**: From £10.80 per hour
