Isle Of Man, United Kingdom Isle of Man Government Full time

**About the role and our team**

We are looking to appoint a **knowledgeable, driven and forward-thinking** Consultant Urologist to join our team at Noble’s Hospital in the Isle of Man.

We require a Consultant who is competent in general adult urology who will work collaboratively with the existing consultant to develop and maintain urology services on the Isle of Man. A special interest in a subspecialty of urology that enhances the existing services would be welcome. Currently stone disease, andrology and laparoscopic surgery are mostly dealt with by referral to UK centres.

This role will offer the opportunity to build closer relationships with allied specialities than might be the case in most UK hospital settings. If you would like to work with a small, professional and close-knit team with overlap with other teams at Noble’s Hospital, this could be the role for you

**What can this role offer me?**

By joining us you will be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.

The Isle of Man offers a unique opportunity in a welcoming community which is supportive to incoming residents and their families. With an excellent base for your career, Manx Care offer a truly integrated health and social care system. Being smaller than the typical district general hospital, and with a smaller catchment area, this post is suitable for someone looking to develop closer links with urological care in the community than might typically occur in most UK district general hospitals.

We strongly encourage personal and professional development - you will have access to our in-house education and training centre with a simulation suite and library situated at Noble’s Hospital. We recognise the need for all medical staff on the Island to maintain connections with medicine in the United Kingdom, and we provide generous study leave with pay and expenses to attend approved conferences and workshops.
