Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We have listened to young people and they have told us that they want something very different from CAMHS inpatient services.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to work as part of a CAMHS inpatient service 37.5hrs per week. Applicants will have a first degree in Psychology (2:1 minimum), previous experience of carrying out psychometric assessments (ideal but not essential) and experience of working with children and families (ideal not essential).

The successful applicant will be involved in providing a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for the young people on a 9 bedded General Adolescent unit, as well as supporting individual, group and family interventions. As part of the development of the new service all staff will receive a high level of training. Working with young people’s mental health can be a highly challenging and very rewarding career. Regular clinical supervision and support will be provided.

The service is committed to young people’s participation in decision making and we would expect applicants to support collaborative working with young people. The selection and recruitment process will be led by our young people.
