**Job description**

Lye Cross Farm is a celebrated 4th generation Farming and Cheesemaking business, situated on the A38 between Bristol and Weston Super Mare, close to Bristol Airport.

Using traditional methods, we make over 4500 tonnes of Cheddar each year, which is sold as Lye Cross Farm branded product, as well as numerous retailer own branded products, including exports to over 40 countries.

The dairy works to high levels of quality and safety we are accredited to the highest BRC Grade A* standards.

This role will encompass leading and working with our established dairy team. This job would suit someone with Supervisor/Deputy manager experience in a similar role who enjoys being involved in a one-to-one basis with staff, procedures and future production planning.

A full training programme will be carried out to support your required duties.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Facilitate quality standards ensuring compliance with UK legislation and customer Codes of Practice.
- Maximising yield and minimising wastage, ensuring efficient high-quality production.
- Start up of production this incorporates, pasteurisation, milk intake and cleaning of required equipment.
- _**Start times will vary, as this role will include holiday cover for 3 shift patterns, 9pm-5am, 2am-10am and 5am-1pm**_.

**Essential**
- Good knowledge of Food Safety & Hygiene Standards
- Previous experience of nights working and dairy/food operations

**Desirable**
- Experience of cheese making on a commercial scale
- Have the knowledge of cheese making processes
