**Job Advert Description**:
Are you interested in working for the Conferences and Events Team and organising a programme of meetings and residential conferences?

We are looking for an events and conference organiser for a fixed period of 2 years to deliver and support our special interest groups to deliver a programme of events for the physics community. This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced environment and with different stakeholders.

**In this role, you will be**:

- Managing a wide variety of events and conferences from one-day meetings to residential conferences across the UK and Ireland. These events could be held in-person, online or a mixture of the two.
- Working with organising committees and individual organisers to deliver their event objectives.
- Generating income for events through exhibition stands and sponsorship
- Site inspections and attending events which include overnight stays.
- Bringing the community together to collaborate and network.

**Who will I work with?**
- Internally, the role works across departments e.g., Science and Innovation, Membership, Policy and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
- Special Interest Groups and their committees as well as individual members.

We are looking for a driven team-player who has the ability to work co-operatively with others to achieve common goals. They must be customer focused and dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders.

**Essential Criteria**
- Experience in managing complex programmes
- Experienced in developing and maintaining relationships with partners and funders.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills are required to enable them to explore different positions and alternatives to reach outcomes that gain acceptance from all parties.

- Project Management Qualification
