**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Reporting to the Processing Manager the Process Setter will support both the Processing Manager and the Mould Shop Manager in production of high quality product to meet production targets. The role is essential to the successful and efficient operation of the Mould Shop.

**KEY ACTIVITIES**
- Operation of plastics extrusion lines, injection moulding machines and liquid silicone resin moulding machines.
- Efficient starting up and shutting down of extrusion lines and injection moulding machines.
- Monitoring and recording process parameters.
- Understanding the importance of minimising machine downtime and how this affects production costs.
- Carry out efficient tooling changes (Injection Moulding) and die changes (Extrusion) according to SOP.
- In the absence of Production Manager/Supervisor, adhering to manufacturing schedules, carrying out tool/die changes in accordance with production requirements.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM) of all equipment work in progress (WIP), (moulds, dies etc), according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitoring and understanding all processes within the Mould Shop.
- Using troubleshooting methods to identify and resolve problems to ensure efficient running of Mould Shop.
- Basic tool maintenance as instructed by Processing/Mould Shop Manager.
- Training in, and ensuring all tooling is correctly and safely stored allowing faster changes, so minimising downtime.
- Daily monitoring of all production equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of same.
- Reporting issues liable to prevent the smooth and efficient running of the Mould Shop to management.
- Accurate collation of data required for the successful running of the Mould Shop.
- Accurate preparation of all paperwork before handover of same to Processing/Mould Shop manager.
- Monitoring quality of all work in progress as well as finished goods.
- Work within the guidelines set by the Quality System at all times, including accurate input of data into production records.
- Supply and monitoring of raw material requirements for day to day running of extrusion and injection moulding machines.
- Carrying out accurate stock checks of all raw materials, including notification of shortages to relevant personnel.
- Correct identification of all finished goods and raw materials both pre and post-production.
- Supply of packing materials to any production machine.
- Correct labelling of all finished goods and storage of same, prior to handover to warehousing facility.
- Segregation and correct labelling of non-conforming material.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the Mould Shop is of the highest standard.
- Consistent and essential good housekeeping of all production areas and equipment.
- Liaising with Cleanroom and Warehousing staff regarding stock levels and products required for immediate assembly.
- Providing holiday, sickness and meal break cover.
- Ability to work multiple shifts in line with Company demand.

**KEY SKILLS**

**Essential**
- A minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A*-C to include Maths and English
- Willingness to work shifts on a rotating pattern
- Excellent organisational and numerical skills
- Strong communication skills - oral and written
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- Demonstrable experience of basic maintenance/engineering
- Uses methodical troubleshooting procedures to solve problems with both equipment and processing
- Willingness to be flexible and carry out manual tasks as required

**Desirable**
- 3rd level qualification in engineering or related discipline
- Experience working in a polymer processing environment
