Group Financial Accountant

As a newly created role this could be a natural move for anyone wanting to move from practice or form another industry client. The position is key to the continued planned growth of the group and will support all finance needs by proactively driving improvementsin processes and controls and improving the quality of data and reporting available to the business

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller the main duties of the role will include -- Supporting the Group Assistant Financial Controller in monthly IFRS 16 lease accounting reporting and review
- Management accounting and day to day maintenance of the central group company books
- Assisting with daily group cash flow and treasury management
- Supporting the year end and interim external financial reporting processes
- Accurately preparing statutory accounts for subsidiary entities
- Assisting with key audit deliverables
- Liaising with auditors, tax advisors, senior management and subsidiary finance teams
- Developing and improving adequate processes for internal and external reporting needs
- Development and implementation of group financial policies and procedures
- Development and implementation of internal audit processes
- Assisting with the onboarding of future group acquisitions
- Supporting in ad hoc Group Finance related projects or technical IFRS queries as required
- Any other duty deemed to be in the interest of the team in achieving its objectives

Personal Description

Essential
- CCAB qualified
- Strong technical skills as well as being hands on and reactive
- Experience in preparing financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS
- Strong working knowledge of Excel
- Strong financial reporting, accounting, and analytical skills
- Hands on, pro-active approach and strive to excellence
- Excellent communication skills, being able to communicate with all stakeholders
- Exceptional attention to detail

Desirable
- Prior experience within a group of companies
- Experience in organisation focused on growth
- Experience of using Microsoft Great Plains
- Knowledge of construction industry
