This is an exciting new role as part of our new service specification for the School health Service. You will be passionate about preventing violence against women and girls, and will bring experience of working with children and young people to this role. You will work within the principles of the BiBorough Violence Against Women and Girls strategy, supporting the School Health Service to champion this and deliver key pieces of work into schools. You will work closely with Local Authority and wider partners, and have an opportunity to attend key strategic meetings to represent the service. You will be an innovative and assertive practitioner, who is skilled at partnership working and building relationships.

Work alongside staff, provide specialist advice / consultation on VAWG / related issues

Lead on delivery of programmes to children and young people (CYP) on healthy relationships, consent, gender equality in schools / community settings, including delivery & supporting others to deliver

Signpost / refer to support services, within schools / community

Support staff in the school health service to train schools

Collaborate with community organisations, law enforcement, healthcare professionals

Provide group / individual supervision/case management advice

Prepare and deliver training on domestic abuse and sexual violence for staff

Support the ongoing rollout of Domestic Abuse Policy / guidelines

Ensure 100% attendance at Multi-agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) across the BiBorough

Provide expert level of knowledge, leadership and professional advice re VAWG to safeguard vulnerable children, using lessons learnt from national / local case reviews, best practice evidence and research

To support the development / practical implementation of Trust’s policy and processes around VAWG

To develop and disseminate resources that support staff to respond to domestic abuse and support survivors to access support within the service

To work with the wider group of clinical specialists including but not limited to safeguarding advisor, Emotional and Mental Health and Wellbeing Leads, Community Collaboration Lead and the RSHE lead for support, supervision and reflection

The BiBorough School Health Service is a universal service working with children and young people in schools. The service is comprised of school nurses, staff nurses, technicians, administrators and specialist roles. The service has a wide remit and is highly valued across both boroughs for our work.
