We are looking for a Business Continuity Specialist; someone with proven experience in either **_business continuity or emergency planning_**. The role requires enhanced security clearance, so you will need to have lived in the UK for the last five years.
**About the role**:
As a **Business Continuity Specialist**, your role will ensure our readiness and capability to respond to incidents. You will be part of a team that provides the full cycle of Business Continuity activity, working with stakeholders to build, review and test plans to respond to unplanned events.
This role is based at our Wokingham office which has free onsite parking, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. However, in case of an emergency or major incident/event you will be required to be present on site, therefore commutable distance to Wokingham office is essential.
**Becoming the Energy Future System Operator**:
As you may have seen the Government and Ofgem have asked the ESO to take on new roles and responsibilities; Becoming the Energy Future System Operator is a critical step to help deliver a reliable and clean energy transition for all. The ESO, including all of its existing roles, will be at the heart of the new Future System Operator, taking on additional roles with a whole energy system mindset to drive progress towards net zero while maintaining energy security and minimising costs for consumers.
The new organisation will be set up as a public corporation with operational independence from government - bringing parties together to support optimised decision making and action. As now, it will be licenced and regulated by Ofgem through price control agreements. It is anticipated that the new organisation will be up and running by or in 2024.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Work with Business unit managers to support the construction of Business Continuity (BC) plans for the Electricity National Control Centre (ENCC) and site in accordance with industry best practice techniques
- Carry out regular BC tests and checks to ensure the adequacy of the plans and feedback learning points, and develop and maintain relevant BC procedures, Work Instructions and documentation
- Maintain ISO22301 accreditation for Energy National Control Centre (ENCC) Operations
- Manage regular evacuation tests, reporting and action tracking, and take lead for ENCC test plan and ensure this can be delivered and integrated with Incident Management processes. Manage the readiness of the incident facilities and facilitate Emergency Preparedness exercises. Provide support for the Incident Management team during incidents and events
- Monitor and ensure business impact assessments are regularly undertaken for new and existing processes within the ENCC and take lead role for integrating ENCC BC planning into wider plans for each of the sites
- Responsible for the management of the Duty Officer role, authorization and develop & maintain Information packs for out of hours and emergency situations.
- Discuss and agree audit needs and verify provision with external and internal audit teams.
**What you'll get**:
A competitive salary between **£49000-£63000** p.a. dependent on capability.
