We have an exciting opportunity for a patient tracker to join the emergency department at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS), this is a full time, permanent position.
The role of the tracker is to ensure patients move as quickly as possible through the Emergency Department, liaising with multiple external teams and supporting the administrative tasks associated with patient flow are undertaken by the correct workforce. This role supports both performance and patient safety.
The Emergency department (ED) is a major trauma centre providing care to approximately 340 patients a day with a mixture of major trauma, majors assessment and treatment area and minor injuries. The department also has an enhanced care suite dedicated to those patients experiencing a mental health crisis. The ED prides itself on delivering high quality patient centred care in a fast paced environment.

The Emergency department is an exciting place to work, great team work and multi-disciplinary working ensures that all new starters are made to feel supported and welcome.

The department has been recently rated “Outstanding” in both ‘Effective’ and ‘Caring’ categories by the CQC and “Good” overall as a department. We are currently undertaking a building programme which will deliver a new resuscitation area and new waiting areas for Children and Adults.
The working hours cover a 7 day service and include both day time and twilight shift patterns.
