Support Worker
We are currently seeking to recruit a friendly and trustworthy support worker to work alongside a family, therapy team and case manager to support a delightful 13-year-old boy with complex care needs, in his own home.
He is registered blind and has significant learning needs. He is also wheelchair dependent and relies on a hoist for transfers. He enjoys lots of sensory stimulation and community activities.
You will need to have had some experience of working with children, preferably within the community and with Brain Injuries, with a minimum of 3 years overall experience working in the care sector as a carer. Full training on the child’s specific needs will be given.
It is important that the support worker can commit to working on a rolling rota, and consideration will be given to flexible working as required. There will also be ad hoc overtime available.
Shift patterns vary across day and night shifts and can be discussed further with the Case Manager at interview.
We aim to offer a competitive salary of £14.75 - £16.25 per hour, depending on experience and shift times/ days, with an enhanced rate for bank holidays. A generous sick leave policy is also included.
This is an excellent opportunity for a support worker to join an extremely rewarding package of care where you will have an opportunity to help transform the life of a family whilst developing and maintaining professional working relationships.
By joining this family, you will be playing a key part in helping to develop the child’s goals and day to day activities, which includes regular social and entertainment activities, along with daily therapeutic interventions including swimming, rebound therapy, sensory integration, and communication, as directed by our clinical team.
If you think you have the skills and experience required for this post, we would love to hear from you.
**Job Type**: Permanent
Pay: £14.75-£16.25 per hour
Work Location: In person
Reference ID: ML471
