The successful midwife will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that will provide antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal care as specified by the individual woman and baby. The midwife will also be responsible for the daily care of a set number of women and/or babies as part of a team.

**What requirements will you need to succeed in this role as a Registered Midwife?**:

- Educated to degree level/ have a valid registration
- If dual registrant, a minimum of four years practising only as a midwife in such country is required
- Providing a high-quality service while dealing with a fluctuating workload
- Coping with tough co-workers, women, and/or family members
- The ability to adapt to working in various areas of midwifery

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Administer intramuscular and intravenous medicines
- Conduct abdominal exams
- Perform vaginal exams and induce labour
- Assess wounds and remove sutures, clips, drains, or staples, as well as dressings
- Assessing the perineum after vaginal birth, accurately determining the severity of any perineal damage, and initiating appropriate treatment, including perineum suturing
- Assisting women with personal hygiene
- Assisting colleagues in the workplace during difficult and stressful times
