**Join EDF as an Area Engineering Coordinator and you’ll join one of the most exciting and challenging projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.**

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

A new opportunity has arisen for an Area Engineering Coordinator to join part of NNB’s Engineering Directorate to work on a day-to-day basis on site with NNB’s Joint Design Office.

As an Area Engineering Coordinator, you will assist the Area Engineering Lead and coordinate all engineering disciplines to serve the needs for the construction of a given area. You will manage operationally the Designers’ deliverables; this includes the coordination and management of design changes, monitoring and ensuring configuration control, response to site queries to support construction on site and closure of design open points.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Attending readiness reviews of Design Packages released for construction as and when required by design owners.
- Identifying issues that could affect Nuclear Safety and ensuring that processes comply with project quality procedures.
- Coordinating interfaces and open points to ensure all design and construction changes are finalised ahead of the construction schedule.
- Ensuring processes comply with project quality procedures.
- Working closely with the Design teams, Contractor and Construction teams to maintain technical quality of responses (content, consistency, comprehensiveness and accuracy), construction programme and construction safety.
- Working closely with the delivery and construction team to schedule and prioritize the engineering work to meet site needs.
- Actively reporting to the Area Engineering Lead on risks and interfaces (technical and functional) and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised.
- Manage a small Design team and act as a lead point of contact for a defined plant area scope.

**Who you are**

Your background may include some of the following:

- Degree qualified or equivalent experience in an Engineering Discipline (preferably Civil or Structural) or a qualified Project Management professional.
- Identifies opportunities for improvements in information management and manipulation.
- Knowledge of presentational techniques and solid experience in the design of a variety of Civil/ Structural works or Mechanical and Electrical systems.
- Understanding of Contract Management, particularly NEC, CDM Regulations, maintaining accurate and timely records (whether systems, databases, spreadsheets).
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvements to procedures processes and/or systems, able to resolve straightforward issues of low complexity/risk in own technical discipline/area.
- Skills to communication/interpersonal, presentation, influencing and facilitation.
- A demonstrated history of Internal and external stakeholder management.
- Previous experience of team management/ leadership
- Previous experience of site Engineering and management of design change process.
- Previous experience in a regulated industry.
- Previous experience using BIM software such as Navisworks, Tekla or Revit.
