**Main Purpose of the role**

Specific responsibility for the provision of advice, assistance & support to all CCS employees and operatives: predominantly on the night shift. To include the production/review of documentation and monitoring of Health and Safety matters.

**Reporting to**

Health and Safety Manager/Assurance Manager GPX

**Key Relationships**

Night Operations Managers, Lead Night H&S Advisor, other Night H&S Advisors, Health & Safety Advisors, Quality and Sustainability Managers, Business Analyst, HSQE Admin, all site personnel including subcontractors, suppliers and clients.

As required by the relevant contract you have been engaged to provide services for with Cleshar

**Role and Responsibilities...**

As a Night Health and Safety Advisor you will ensure that effective Health & Safety support & guidance is provided to line management within designated areas of responsibility, including:

- Working with colleagues within the HSQE team to ensure that advice is accurate, timely and presented in such a way as to ensure acceptance and subsequent implementation.
- Assisting in ensuring that all health and safety legal and contractual requirements are met.
- Undertaking Site Inspections and Audits as required by PGI programme, including the preparation of written reports, coordinating with other Night Advisors via Lead Advisor. Subsequently assisting line management in the effective and timely close out of issues identified.
- Monitoring the adherence to, and provide compliance assistance as necessary, any project specific procedures and documentation i.e. Site Files, Project Plans, General Method Statements, Specific Method Statements, Emergency Plans as well as Risk, Manual Handling and COSHH assessments.
- Initiating and assisting in Health and Safety Accident and Incident Investigations, ensuring timely reporting to management & clients, preparation of interim and final reports and the presentation of same as required.
- Championing the Company’s Integrated Management System (IMS), at all times ensuring that operational staff & contractors adhere to its requirements.
- Representing the department and company at Client facing meetings.
- Promoting Health and Safety issues, awareness and initiatives within Portfolios including the preparation and delivery of Safety Communications (i.e. Tool Box talks, Safety Alerts) and attendance at Safety Forums.
- Participating in D&A Screening and DAMSP programme as a Collection Officer.
- Assisting in the identification, development and implementation of specific Health and Safety related Initiatives, ensuring they meet business, client and legal requirements.
- Preparing & delivering presentations on Health and Safety matters.
- Participating in the HSQE team ‘On-Call’ roster.
- Assisting in the production and/or review of any Portfolio specific procedures and documentation i.e. Site Files, Project Plans, General Method Statements, Specific Method Statements, Emergency Plans as well as Risk, Manual Handling and COSHH assessments, including the review of subcontractor documents
- Undertaking any specific health and safety related tasks or projects allocated by the Health and Safety Manager/Assurance Manager GPX.

The role holder must be willing to work days and/or weekends when required as the business is a 24 hour operation.

To assist the company in meeting its statutory health and safety responsibilities, the post holder is responsible for taking reasonable care in relation to the following:

- Take care of your own health and safety and that of others effected by your actions or omissions.
- Carry out your work in a safe manner and comply with company arrangements, e.g. Policy, briefings, training, instructions.
- Address any unsafe condition or action, environmental or quality issue identified and raise with your manager and record as a Near Miss/Close Call.
- Report any accident or incident immediately regardless of the severity.
- The post holder is supported by others in the business with their own HSQE responsibilities.

- Immediately report any suspected GDPR data breach to you portfolio/department GDPR Lead or Head of Human Resources (HR)
