You will be working in a busy gatehouse to control access/egress, deliveries, and contractors arriving on-site ensuring a swift handover at the beginning and end of shifts.

**Average of 42 hours per week, Days/Nights and weekends**

**You will be on 12-hour shifts,**

**4 on 4 off rota**

**Opportunities for overtime**

**Knowledge of Access Control and basic Microsoft skills.**

**Your daily tasks will be**:

- To prevent and deter unauthorised access to the site.
- Monitoring alarms.
- Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.
- Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Record and report all faults, health and safety hazards and unsafe working practices.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and conduct effective handover procedures.

**Essential Skills** **What you will bring to be a Security Officer**:

- **SIA Licence**:

- **Right to work in the UK**:

- **Five-year checkable employment history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or full and part-time education during that period.**:

- Full UK driving licence is preferred due to the location of our client's site
- Experience of working within a busy Gatehouse
- Good understanding of IT/computers and access control systems
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Punctual and reliable
- Manage multiple tasks
- The ability to make good judgment and come to sensible conclusions

**Desirable Skills**:

- EFAAW certificate
