What are we looking for?
For the apprenticeship program we prioritize applicants eligible to government funding for their apprenticeship and for this you need to:
- Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
- Be a resident of the UK for the entire duration of the program
- Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending June 2023 or later
- Have 5 x GCSE’s at grade 4-9 (A-C) or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English
Please note, you will be required to evidence your qualifications. If you have gained qualifications outside of the UK you will be required to evidence that they are equivalent.

In this role you will be responsible for contributing towards, and in some cases ownership of CR&S, campaigns, projects and events, making sure these are embedded by facilitating delivery. You will interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at various levels and who could be across one or multiple sites/countries. You facilitate change by helping others to understand how different roles fit within the strategy and how everyone’s contribution can impact the greater good. You will also be passionate about social and environmental change, and strive to role model ethical behaviour and values working towards the business’s CR&S goals.
Whilst working towards the apprenticeship standard, you will also learn
- Liaising with internal and external partners to keep track of the impact we are having through our programs and campaigns.
- Developing and presenting business cases for new projects and/or innovation opportunities.
- Reviewing project budgets, monitoring forecast and actual costs against them in system.
- Coordinating with vendors and suppliers on contractual commitments and ensuring delivery within committed plans and deadlines.
- Identifying and monitoring risks and opportunities for the successful implementation of projects.
- Regularly monitoring our marketing and communication channels (website, mailbox etc.) to ensure they are up-to-date and develop editing skills to keep our content pages updated.
- Planning, creating and delivering engaging content for key stakeholders to communicate information about our activity.
As a Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability apprentice at Amazon, you’ll gain a vast range of useful experiences and skills. You will work towards the Level 4 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability apprenticeship standard.
You will build your skills over a 36-month period, starting in July, which will help you develop personally and professionally. Your apprenticeship will be made up of;
- Classroom/virtual based training to cover knowledge
- On-the-job training at your Amazon base location
- Online learning
- Mentoring from our experienced team members
Alongside extensive development of your technical skills, you will also grow your abilities in crucial complementary areas like organization, prioritization, data and problem-solving techniques, teamwork, communication, presentation skills and document writing.
You will attend a number of workshops across the duration of the apprenticeship, workshops will be a mix of face to face and online delivery by a training provider. You will also attend internal workshops/ trainings to support you in developing Amazon related skills and knowledge. Depending on the scheme and location of the training provider you may be required to travel and stay overnight. (costs will be supported by Amazon)
Key job responsibilities
You will be combining working in your assigned team as a Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Apprentice whilst continuing your studies to achieve your qualification. As a working student your focus is to complete your studies in your 20% off the job time by learning and developing your skills, knowledge and behaviours to work towards successful graduation. You will be set objectives and goals by your training provider and manager to support your studies.
