Here at **AIS**, we have an exciting opportunity available for an **Assistant Merchandiser **to join our Merchandising team based in **Solihull.** We offer **hybrid** working on-site and from home. You will join us on a **full-time, permanent basis,** and in return, you will receive a **competitive salary.
AIS** is the largest non-food buying group of its kind in the UK, with a membership of 300 independent department stores & specialist retailers, and a combined retail turnover of £2 billion. The business is now entering an exciting time of change, witha new Managing Director at the helm and a transformational agenda to bring a more commercial and customer-focused approach to this well-established and successful membership organisation.
As our **Assistant Merchandiser**, you will work closely with the Merchandising Manager, and assist in the development of the departmental strategic plan, collaborating with internal teams such as buying finance and IT and externally working closelywith our member stores, suppliers, and brands.
**Key Responsibilities As Our Assistant Merchandiser**
- Building, preparing, and analysing sales reports to support relevant weekly and seasonal meetings in the buying calendar
- Producing seasonal plans for each store that can be used to build department budgets that are signed off internally and externally by our stores
- Owning the departmental purchase ordering process
- Owning the delivery schedule process
- Building relationships with member stores through virtual meets, store visits, and resolving ad-hoc queries
- Driving the performance reporting through relevant communication channels
- Working with internal stakeholders in IT and Finance in aligning on data and process
- Liaising with stores and suppliers as necessary throughout the season on replenishment stock driving sales to the stores
- Working with stores on promotional and markdown activity to enhance their profitability

**What We’re Looking For In Our Assistant Merchandiser**
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel with the ability to build reports, pivot tables and then communicate this analysis to the wider team.
- An ability to work to deadlines with great attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to stay focused on assigned tasks
- Provide outstanding customer service to our member stores
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, member stores, and own team
