**Opportunity**

We are looking for an EHS Specialist to join our Environmental, Health & Safety Team in Ipswich

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Examine work environments for various physical, chemical, biological, and environmental hazards and stresses and make recommendations for improvements to process and equipment;
- Conduct activities that measure and improve workplace safety culture;
- Implement corrective actions for stresses that impair employee health and efficiency;
- Interpret HSE standards and regulations and maintain cooperative relationship with HSE;
- Monitor and support a robust process for incident investigation and failure analysis of environmental, health and safety incidents;
- Arrange health and safety training courses for supervisors and employees as needed;
- Provide assistance in the design of protective equipment for uses on processes and machinery and redesign equipment to eliminate and reduce safety and health hazards as needed;
- Provide advice and support in day-to-day EHS related operational issues, e.g. risk assessments, investigations, and responding to general queries;
- Implement and monitor the effectiveness of Textron EHS standards and policies;
- Actively promote a safety culture and awareness across site;
- Analyse proposed and final regulations for impacts to manufacturing operations;
- Support monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual reports to local and corporate offices as required;
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications/Skills/Education Required**:

- Education: Degree educated or equivalent. NEBOSH NGC in Occupational Health & Safety would be advantageous.
- Trained in environmental engineering, safety engineering, occupational safety, or related field;
- High level of communication skills;
- Previous EHS experience in a similar role required;
- Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office Applications
- Knowledge of HSE requirements and UK regulations, HSE injury reporting, emergency response protocols, powered industrial truck requirements, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001, machine guarding, PUWER Regs, LOTO and control of hazardous energy required;
- Certified or ability to be certified in First Aid/CPR/AED required.
