Costain are looking to employ a full-time expert in Electrical Safety Management; to drive excellence in both temporary and permanent electrical systems across our wide ranging project portfolio.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Highly experienced in electrical installation, commissioning and operations
- Have a strong safety and environmental focus to support our teams and our decarbonisation plans
- Have UK experience and understand the Regulatory framework, be the owner of our operating standards
- Be agile and flexible, able to support tenders, design, construction, commissioning and legacy works
- Have a strong knowledge of the electrical supply chain, especially in the UK
- Be an excellent communicator and leader of our community of practice

The opportunity to be an inspirational leader within one of the UK's critical infrastructure specialists, working in highways, rail, air, defence, water, and nuclear sectors. The role will require an element of travelling to operational sites, some of which will require security clearance. You will be expected to be self sufficient and empowered to evaluate where your time is best served based on the mitigation and control of electrical risks. You will be seen to be active with the IET and represent Costain as a Contract Partner. You will be part of a highly specialist team with other Designated Individuals reporting to the Group Chief Engineer.

**About you**
- Ideally Degree qualified, HNC / HND
- Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer, longer term Fellow
- Leader, collaborative, strategic, networker, influencer, strong safety focus
- Experienced and knowledgeable across sectors, e.g. water, highways, rail, power, industrial, nuclear, defence
- Understanding of processes across the project life cycle and able to provide expert support
- Knowledge of communications skills and ability to be effective using them. Able to deliver presentations, training etc. stakeholder mapping and engagement, facilitate groups etc
- Able to travel mainly across the UK and visit project sites / suppliers, at short notice occasionally
