The Department of Pastoral and Spiritual Care is responsible for facilitating the pastoral, spiritual and religious care of patients, staff, students and visitors of the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLaG) and for providing specialist knowledge and expertise in matters relating to spiritual and religious beliefs, experiences and practices. The post holder will contribute to an ecumenical and multi-faith/belief team providing spiritual, pastoral, and religious care for patients, relatives and staff in Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust and other areas or Trusts that might be covered by service level agreements.

The post holder will work with the HUTH Head of Chaplaincy, the NLaG Senior Site Chaplain, the team of Chaplains and volunteers in facilitating the provision of care.

Access to own transport or ability to fulfil the requirements to attend to requests to see a Chaplain within 1 hour, in the daytime and at night.

Our highly valued Bank Chaplains play a key role in the Chaplaincy team by augmenting the team from time to time. The role is primarily focussed on the provision of high quality pastoral and spiritual care (including religious care when requested) to patients, their families and carers.

Opportunities arise to support the Chaplaincy team at different times, and for a variety of reasons. Typically, however, successful applicants may be invited to offer a minimum of 3.5 hours (1 session) between 09:00 and 16:00 from time to time, according to the needs of the service, on any day of the week, including occasional weekends.

Bank Chaplains may also be asked to be available for short periods if the Chaplaincy team require temporary additional capacity during the course of a Major Incident. Some Bank Chaplains currently participate in the 24-hour on-call rota from time to time.

**You will**:

- Be honest, with yourself and others, fundamentally caring and willing to be accountable within the team.
- Be willing to work in an ecumenical/multi-faith/belief team.
- Be a good listener who is comfortable being alongside people who are facing significant challenges, articulating distress, or approaching the end of their lives.
- Be able to participate in the 24 hour [1] and weekend on-call rota from time to time.
- Have previous experience of delivering Pastoral, Spiritual or Religious Care
