Functional Tester

We have an exciting opportunity for a Functional Tester to join our team based in Darlington on a permanent basis.

**The role**
As Functional Tester, you develop, maintain, enhance and fully test the functionality of pension process and functionality within software used by Railpen business areas. This role is pivotal in supporting the administration function with processing in the administration system and manual processing while the administration system undergoes optimisation.
**The person**
We are looking for someone who has knowledge of both DC and DB pension schemes and has a keen interest in developing their skills within a testing capacity. Full training will be provided with the opportunity to obtain an ISTQB Software testing certification. Experience of testing within pension scheme environment would be preferable, but not essential.
You will be working closely with the Product & Proposition team and software provider to detail requirements before building commences; utilising workshops, discussions, reviews and additional methods. You will use business and technical specifications to design appropriate test scripts within agreed periods and will be responsible for providing daily updates on progress. You will also support other areas of the business by providing training and expertise to processes.
We are looking for you to be collaborative in your approach to allow for enhancing relationships with suppliers, BAU and other aspects of the wider business. You will have effective written and verbal communication skills that will enable you to support other areas of the business and external stakeholders with training, training documentation and expertise relating to various processes. Having a methodical and a keen eye for detail as well as being accountable for you work, ensuring all tasks remain on target and meet deadlines.
