Tree and Woodland Officer

Summary

The Countryside Team is currently looking for a Tree and Woodland Officer to carry out the statutory and safety functions of the service.

This is an interesting and varied role involving the provision of specialist, technical arboricultural information and advice to a variety of stakeholders, inspecting and monitoring the condition of trees and planning and overseeing tree works by external contractors on land within Wiltshire Council's ownership.

This is a full time temporary position for 24 months.

**About the role**

You will be responsible for delivering the Council's statutory duty with respect of its responsibilities for the management and maintenance of its tree stock. This involves responding to reports received through the MyWiltshire app and from other sources of concern and arranging for work to be carried out as required.

**About you**

You will need a Level 6 qualification (Degree in Arboriculture) or equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience and LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection Certificate. You will also need to be an effective communicator with excellent negotiation skills. In return, you will have the opportunity to broaden your technical knowledge in the countryside field with the full support of an experienced team.
