**Working Relationships**: To work with the Facilities Coordinator, Unit Manager, clients, colleagues and visitors on a daily basis to ensure continuity of service and good communications are maintained
**Location**: Castle Vale Dialysis Unit
**Grade: N/A**
**Role Summary**
Carry out and respond to a wide range of duties as requested from users of UHB Facilities Ltd. The role will also ensure UHB Facilities Ltd complies with all quality aspects required as set out in the Service Level Agreements with both providers and clients.
**Key Tasks**
**Stock control**
- Put away stores, ensuring stock is rotated to ensure oldest items are used first.
- Oversee and maintain safe stock levels, liaising with the clinical team ensuring correct stock levels are in line with clinical activity.
- Log, chase and escalate to the appropriate persons the non-arrival of stock.
- Chase stock on back order and agree contingency plans with appropriate persons if required.
- Liaising when necessary with the Facilities team to ensure stock items are purchased at best price without compromising on quality
**Technical Support**
- The daily monitoring of the water treatment system
- To identify trends and issues that could have a detrimental effect on the service and escalate as necessary.
- To work methodically in the taking of water samples, and understand the need for the performance of corrective actions.
- Complete required documentation on a daily basis.
- Keep accurate and up to date records of statuary compliance documentation, including all maintenance records and waste transfer notes.
- Carrying out any daily, weekly and monthly planned preventative maintenance tasks as and when required to ensure the safe running of the building.
- Performing minor maintenance repairs.
**Movement Handling**
- To deliver goods or services using company vehicles as and when required.
- To undertake small office moves and department moves as requested.
- To remove waste and deliver linen and supplies as requested.
- Oversee the goods inwards/outwards procedures of the department.
**Security**
- To undertake the agreed locking and un-locking procedure as and when required. Check that the building is internally and externally secure. Report any breach of security to the Facilities Coordinator and/or security staff.
- Alert the security services of any issues and call to check visitors out of hours are expected.
- To take an active role during emergencies including fire and all other major emergencies. To accompany emergency services to the problem area and assist as requested
**General**
- All staff to wear uniform in accordance with company uniform policy and comply with the infection control policy.
- All staff to report an accident or incident in compliance with the company policy and procedures.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- To attend mandatory training at times agreed by the Facilities Manager to comply with company policy.
- Participate when required in incident investigations.
- To undertake any additional training necessary for the role.
- If required participate in further training aimed at gaining a greater understanding of the systems installed within the dialysis unit.
- All breaks to be taken as directed by the Facilities Coordinator and in line with the company policy.
**The post holder will undertake other duties as may be required to achieve UHB Facilities objectives.**
