Location: Stratford, London (High flex - we’d expect you to be in the office 1 to 2 days a week)

Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week (flexible working requests will be considered)

**Salary**: £46,000 - £53,000 pa per annum (depending on experience)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a new role in the Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMC) Network Programme Office that will lead on the ECMC strategic approach to engagement and the people who are part of our network.

The ECMC Network is a UK wide network of centres that conduct early phase trials and associated translational research. The Programme Office is housed by CRUK and supports the network in a variety of ways. You can learn more about the network and the Programme Office

The ECMC network is made up of 17 adult centres and 12 paediatric locations across the UK. Each ECMC has unique and world leading expertise within early phase clinical research. Collaboration across the ECMC network gives us the edge in generating new treatments for cancer.

What will you be doing?- Lead on the ECMC strategic approach to engagement within all elements of the network, to ensure that our complex network of clinicians, nursing staff, junior investigators, and R&D Staff, amongst others, feel part of the network and that new initiatives are co-created with our community.- Lead on developing the network approach to improve patient access and referral within the ECMC Network, including working with key stakeholders to develop an implementation plan and evaluation framework- Develop and embed patient and public involvement across ECMC strategic and operational activities including trial design & delivery to ensure their views and experiences are incorporated proportionately and meaningfully throughout the work of the ECMC.- Lead on our EDI approach to ensure that patients from all backgrounds can access experimental medicine.- Establish an ECMC Workforce Forum to ensure that the needs of ECMC staff groups including junior investigators, research nurses and Centre Business Leads are considered and cross-cutting/staff groups workforce discussions can be facilitated- Develop approaches for attracting and retaining talent to build a workforce suitable for clinical trials. Build task and finish groups to address the issues of raising awareness of clinical research as a career and retention within the sector.- Build and lead a small team focused on the communication and engagement aspects of the ECMC programme office.

What skills are we looking for?- Experience and a proven track record of establishing, leading, and delivering complex, multi-faceted programme/s of work.- Extensive experience of building relationships with senior stakeholders internally and externally, including, judging situations, and acting diplomatically to influence effectively and build consensus.- An understanding of developing and using governance processes within complex initiatives- Excellent communication skills, with strong attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and present complex information in written form or verbally, that recognises the needs of the audience.- An ability to deal with sensitive information in a professional way.- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop innovative and forward-thinking strategies and translate these into operational plans; and to support others to do so.- Experience or understanding of the importance of, involving patients or people impacted by cancer into the delivery of programme and project delivery- Proven ability to form strong, positive collaborative relationships at all levels of seniority
