Are you a skilled Plater with experience in working with structural steel?

Here at EW Recruitment Services, we are working alongisda reputable and growing structural steel company in Newton Aycliffe. We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Platers to contribute to our diverse range of projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Measure and mark steel plates for cutting and shaping.
- Operate cutting and shaping equipment, such as plasma cutters, gas torches, and power tools.
- Fabricate and assemble structural steel components according to project requirements.
- Ensure accurate fitting and alignment of steel plates.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with the team to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and industry regulations.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Plater in a structural steel environment.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of cutting and shaping techniques and equipment.
- Ability to measure, mark, and layout steel plates accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: From £14.50 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Newton Aycliffe: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- MIG welding: 1 year (preferred)
- Fabrication: 1 year (preferred)
