Here at BSW Group we have a new and fantastic opportunity for an HR Officer to join our business, based at our flagship K2 sawmill in Fort William, the gateway to the Western Highlands. This area is renowned for its surrounding mountains and glens which are amongst the most stunning in the Highlands, offering endless lifestyle possibilities.

**HR Officer**:

- **Based BSW Timber, Fort William (On-site)**:

- **Full Time / Permanent**:
Working alongside the wider central HR function, the role will work to support functional and operational teams on all people-related matters.

**Main Duties**:

- Be first point of contact in providing high quality support and advice on all HR related queries such as disciplinary, grievances, sickness, etc.
- Work with managers to address issues such as absence levels and support Occupational Health provisions.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are in date and utilised in accordance with employment legislation.
- Maintenance of HR Management and Time Management Systems.
- Monitor and support of probation period and reviews.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and learning & development activities across the wider Group.
- Collating information on key HR metrics and creating reports for wider business functions.
- Ad-hoc project work to modernise and standardise HR practices across the BSW Group.

**About you**:
This role is ideal for an HR professional who is looking to broaden their skillset within a growing, multi-facet business. Preferably prior experience would have been gained in a manufacturing, forestry, or other related environment but above all, we’re looking for an effective and confident communicator, who is highly organised and can manage a diverse workload. In addition, you’ll have:

- Practical experience working within a generalist HR role.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment legislations and relevant case law.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office packages.
- Resourceful initiative and problem-solving skills.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or working towards, would be advantageous.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel to sites across the UK.
