**MEDICAL ADMINISTRATOR**

**Contract Type**: Permanent, Full-Time
**Hours**:37.5 hours per week
**Salary**: £21,255

Location: HMS Raleigh, Trevol Road, Torpoint, Cornwall, England, PL11 2PD

**Job purpose**

Based in the Medical Centre HMS Raleigh, this role provides a broad and flexible medical administration service to meet the contracted requirements of the Armed Forces (predominantly the Royal Navy). Employed as an Administrator with specific responsibility, there will be the potential to rotate through various elements of professional tasks when required to meet the needs of the business. Training can be provided, where appropriate.

**Responsibilities**

With requisite training, ensure the efficient and effective running of the Medical History Section, developing a good working knowledge of the administrative duties required by the Practice Manager and/or Principal Medical Officer in any of the following roles:
Reception
Hospital Appointments

Specifically, there is a requirement to:
Operate the Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP) (training given)
Ensure the exportation of all medical data from DMICP for all personnel joining and leaving is carried out in accordance with current guidelines
Ensure that all incoming medical letters and results are processed and scanned onto DMICP in accordance with current protocols
To complete the initiation of the Integrated Health record for all service joiner's on DMICP
Assist with the Reception and appointments system
To maintain confidentiality at all times complying with Caldicott principles and General Data Protection Regulations
Carry out any other reasonable tasks determined by the Mitie Line Manager, including support and cover for other staff in the Medical Centre, HMS Raleigh

**Knowledge skills & experience**

Administration experience with strong organisational skills, with a high degree of integrity and the ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised
Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to develop close working relationships
Previous administrative experience within a Medical environment (desirable)
Knowledge/understanding of MOD administration and processes (desirable)
Ability to adapt to change and undertake additional training when required

**Additional Information**

SC security clearance and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Standard will be a requirement.
The Contract operates a 37.5 hour working week between the hours of 0730 and 1700 Mon - Fri only.
Required to wear approved company work wear.
Expected to support a safe working culture and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures, processes and the law.
Required to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations and observe confidentiality.
