**Location: This role is peripatetic in nature with a requirement for regular travel to sites across Scotland with a focus on the East and North of Scotland, combined with home working. Occasional travel to other regions and Head Offices in London is required.**

**Working hours**:Minimum of 35 hours per week

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, as our customer-focused, driven and resilient HR Advisor, you will inspire a culture of clear accountability, high engagement and exemplary performance. You will ensure the delivery of service level agreements and will expertly advise and assist on areas such as workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations and absence management - minimising risk, identifying problem areas, and recommending corrective action.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Challenge, coach and mentor local management to engage and develop employee capability and behaviours in line with the organisations mission and values
- Working as part of a team providing high level HR advice and guidance on complex Employee Relations cases
- Support the development and implementation of all HR policies and practices in order to provide consistency across the organisation and deliver training on same
- Support managers on a one to one basis to carry out HR related processes such as recruitment, absence management, performance management
- Deputise for the HR Business Partner in their absence, support and work closely with the HRBP on a day to day basis by taking an active lead on operational duties
- Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
- Experience of successfully advising and coaching line managers on HR issues, up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and codes of practice, and experience of recruitment, selection and interviewing
- Experience of employee relations casework and of delivering HR training
- Ability to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army
