Senior Correspondent

MLex Senior Correspondent, Competition, London

Global regulatory risk newswire MLex is looking for a Senior Correspondent to cover competition regulation in the UK, based in London. Reporting experience and prior knowledge of the beat are required.

The role:
You will write about a broad range of competition issues in the UK including new and proposed legislation, court reporting on regulatory enforcement actions and consumer protection cases, and mergers & acquisition (M&A) oversight and approvals in the UK.

Writing for an influential audience of executives, lawyers, consultants and policymakers, you will be expected to keep on top of major developments, deliver exclusive stories, and produce sophisticated commentary and analysis.

You will work closely with a senior competition reporter based in London, jointly deciding on coverage priorities and responsibilities. There will also be occasions to collaborate with colleagues in Asia and the Americas, and with those covering other beats such as data privacy & security, financial services, climate change, trade, and financial crime.

Nevertheless, you need to demonstrate the ability to take overall responsibility for your beat and ensure that everything is covered with mínimal oversight from editors. You must also be able to write clearly, producing stories that are both detailed and accessible to non-experts.

Our team work from our office in Farringdon, at least two days a week with the option to work from home on the other days, under our post-Covid hybrid working policy.
