**Main Purpose of Role**:
To support the Customer Networks business and in particular, HV Cable Jointer(s) in the delivery of works, ensuring compliance with HSQE policies and procedures at all times.

To gain knowledge and experience by working alongside the HV Cable Jointer(s), on the job learning within areas of ESM Power business. To learn all procedures to fulfil works required under O&M contracts.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
1. To support the installation of LV/HV cables, cable joints and terminations.

2. Carry out aspects of work under the guidance of a cable jointer in accordance with your own competence and authorisations.

3. Responsible for the care and condition of vehicles, plant, tools, PPE and equipment issued to, or used by the post holder.

4. Provide all necessary report forms or verbal reports relating to the safe correct functioning of all PPE & equipment immediately advising the line manager of any defects requiring repair.

5. Provide support to the team in terms of commitment, effort, dedication and flexibility to ensure customer requirements are met in accordance with agreed timescales.

6. Complete works in accordance with ESM Power specifications and in compliance with the relevant Legislation and industry best practice.

7. Work to operational procedures, safe working practices and Health and Safety procedures as instructed.

8. Maintain an evidenced portfolio of work to contribute to agreed training and development objectives.

9. Undertake additional formal technical / on the job / skill-based training as required in accordance with any agreed training and development objectives.

10. Strive to maintain the highest professional conduct to develop and promote a positive image of ESM Power.

11. Carry out other duties as required by business needs in support of a wider range of site activities in the LV/HV power industry.

**Job Context/Key Challenges**:
Working within the Customer Networks Business, the postholder will work effectively to provide excellent customer service to external customers and internal stakeholders.

**Dimensions**:
The postholder will be required to work on site, in all weather conditions, in support of the Jointer(s).

**Minimum Qualifications and Experience**:

- BTEC Level 3 Engineering, or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 merit grades **or**:

- GCSE’s grade A-C/ 9-4, or equivalent, including Maths, English and Science
- Excellent IT skills/IT qualification

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
