Earlsferry House is looking to recruit a Cook. _(16-hours per week)_

Our care home is set in a stunning location, in the East coastal town of Elie and Earlsferry, providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia & Respite care for 26 residents.

As Cook, you will work alongside the Head Chef to deliver a high quality of food to our residents and ensure the kitchen operates in a timely manner.

**Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications**
- City & Guilds 706 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards)
- Team player.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative

**Desired**
- Experience of food preparation for the relevant Service User group.
- Experience working in a care environment would be advantageous but not essential

**Main Responsibilities**

Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals, as and when required.

Liaise with the Head Chef when planning menus to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of available fresh foods.

Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.

Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer/fridge temperatures.

Ensure stock rotation.

Assist in the ordering of stocks and checking of deliveries, and check and value stocks as required by the Head Chef.

Ensure statutory Health & Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.

Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area and dining areas is carried out effectively.
