About us

Praesmohr house is a family run 28-bed care home in Birse Aboyne AberdeenShire.

The owners are committed to investing in high quality care and the care environment and have undertaken significant refurbishment of the home over the past few years and continue to make improvements to the interior and exterior areas.

We are looking for a leader to manage our team of committed and compassionate care and support staff, several of whom have been with us for many years.

About the role:
The role will involve leading and managing a team of c25 staff in the planning and implementing of high quality care and support that gives our residents safety, security, dignity, wellbeing and promotes their independence.

Ideally, you will have an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare (SCQF Level 9) or above, or a willingness to work towards this qualification.

In addition a management qualification that is certified at or above SCQF Level 9 or a SVQ Care Services Leadership and Management (SCQF Level 10) or a willingness to work towards this qualification.

You will also be supported to undertake further training to fulfil SSSC requirements of registration.

The successful applicant should also have an understanding of the Promoting Excellence Framework and the ability to effectively co-ordinate a team, as well as experience of the Risk Assessment process and Person-Centred Care Planning.

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required
- SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare (SCQF Level 9) or above, or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Management qualification that is certified at or above SCQF Level 9 or a SVQ Care Services Leadership and Management (SCQF Level 10) or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Excellent people management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Trained in the Administration of Medication
- Experienced in care planning for vulnerable people
- Accurate and timely administration skills
- Experience in building and managing shift rotas
- Comfortable in the use of Microsoft Office products

Desirable but not essential:

- Experience in supervisory role in residential care environment
- Experience of Infection Control & Prevention, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and Fire Safety procedures
- Experience of working with Care planning and Medication Administration software
- Moving & Handling Facilitator
- Staff recruitment
