A Finance Analyst is required to support the monthly Profit & Loss site forecast and programme management accounts with associated reports and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in all aspects of forecasting and financial planning. This is a temporaryposition to support an extended paternity leave.
1. Management of the monthly P+L forecasts ensuring all inputs are received and accurate and meet divisional reporting requirements. This should include focus on reducing lead times where applicable and improving process efficiencies.
2. All forecast inputs reviewed and challenged as appropriately with stakeholders to ensure these are the best that can be achieved by the business. Standard analytical review techniques are maintained and actions with the business are addressed proactively.This culture of challenge is fostered and encouraged within the team and Management accountants.
3. Ensure a robust financial control environment is maintained in production of all budgets and forecasts highlighting any areas of risk to Ops Finance Manager and FD as appropriate.
4. Reporting for all budgets and forecasts are fit for purpose summarising all relevant headline movements and variances formatted to ensure these can be communicated both to the GM and across the business. All relevant risks and opportunities are capturedand reported highlighting any gaps between forecast and external commitments helping to drive corrective actions across the business.
5. Support for Programme Management accounts including monthly reporting and linkage to site forecasting required.
6. Co-ordinate and manage all forecasting aspects re: finance between planning and the business. This should include acting as the main point of liaison to ensure communications are clear and co-ordinated between finance and the rest of the business.
The jobholder will be educated to to degree level or equivalent with a professional accounting qualification. You will have a willingness to improve and strive for best practice encouraging and supporting the same of their peers and colleagues. Adept workingto tight and changing deadlines. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and establish credibility across differing functions in a professional manner tailored to the audience.
Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting
Experience business partnering and in management accounts
Understanding of financial controls and processes
Experience of Financial forecasting and planning
Experience working within a fast paced UK plc. environment
Experience of working within the manufacturing sector would be an advantage along with experience of managing direct reports. Use of SAP and Hyperion
