Teach 195 are recruiting on behalf of a Alternative Provision in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. The pupil referral unit is dedicated to provide an inclusive and supportive educational environment for all students. They specialise in an Alternative Provision (AP) setting, offering tailored education for children and young people who require a different approach due to various needs, including social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.

Our goal is to recruit the ideal person that will go in and create a nurturing and engaging learning experience that empowers every student to achieve their full potential.

Alternative Provision settings offers bespoke educational solutions outside the traditional school setting. It caters to students who may struggle in mainstream education due to various reasons, including behavioral issues, mental health conditions, or specific learning needs. The AP provides a flexible curriculum and personalised support, focusing on holistic development and practical skills alongside academic achievements.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the planning and delivery of individualised educational programmes.
- Assist the class teacher in creating a safe and stimulating environment for learning.
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behavior and support emotional regulation.
- Foster positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and participation.
- Help with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and parents/carers.
- Support students during transitions, both within the school and to external activities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, counselors, and external agencies.
- Contribute to the development and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Experience working with children and young people with SEN, particularly those in Alternative Provision or challenging behaviour settings.
- A strong understanding of different learning needs and effective support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive and flexible approach to meeting the diverse needs of students.
- Relevant qualifications and experiences, such as a background of working in a previous AP or you may hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and training.

**Valuable Experiences**:

- Previous experience in an Alternative Provision or special school setting.
- Training in specific intervention programs or therapeutic approaches.
- Experience in supporting students with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practices and restorative approaches.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive learning tools.
