Overall Purpose of the Role: The overall purpose of the role is to provide administrative support within the Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU), ensuring the integrity and continuity of forensic/biometric evidence. The role acts as a professional interface between the FIU and its customers, supporting the organizational goal of bringing offenders to justice.

Key Accountability Areas: The role encompasses the following key accountability areas:

- Data Management: Input case-specific and biometric data accurately into TVP and National databases/IT systems while adhering to legislation and agreed working practices.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance checks on biometric data, submissions, and exhibits, ensuring compliance with FIU submissions policies. Refer queries and deficiencies to the appropriate submitting officer or line manager.
- Exhibit Management: Handle and record forensic exhibits, redistributing them as necessary to internal and external departments. Maintain exhibit continuity and integrity, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation (e.g., PACE, CPIA, PoFA).
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the unit, including filing, equipment maintenance, stock ordering, checking delivery notes/invoices, and handling post.
- Case Progression: Handle calls and inquiries from investigating officers regarding case progression. Compile and distribute case results to investigators, keeping them informed of forensic outcomes.
- Technical Enquiries: Address technical inquiries related to specific forensic disciplines, providing accurate and timely information to customers. Escalate work requests to the relevant forensic discipline for specialist advice or further examination when necessary.
- Policy Compliance: Monitor TVP policies and take action regarding the destruction and disposal of exhibits. Archive files and exhibits in accordance with existing legislation (MOPI/CPIA) for future retrieval or disposal.
- Meetings and Visitor Management: Attend meetings, occasionally take minutes, and manage visitors to the Unit.
