To ensure safe and effective clinical practice. 1. To work on a rotation, undertaking radiographic duties in at least one clinical area primarily Breast Imaging. To work across any of our sites flexibly as required.
2. To work flexibly to provide these services including at weekends, evenings, on call and Bank Holidays to ensure that you have sufficient equipment training and technical knowledge to produce high quality diagnostic images. 3. To ensure that you use all equipment safely and in accordance with operating/manufacturer instructions and that you and all staff using equipment are competent and trained to do so.
4. To undertake training on the Patient Management System (PMS), the Radiology Information System (RIS) and the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) to ensure that patient information is stored and retrieved accurately. 5. To participate in the vetting of appropriate referrals in line with radiology authorisation guidelines.
6. To work in a multi-disciplinary team and to encourage team development and facilitate the professional development of other personnel this may include nurses, HCAs, students, apprentices and other trainees. 7. To ensure a clean, tidy and safe working environment, adhering to the cleaning SOPs in place for each clinical area.
8. To promptly report any equipment failures to the Department Superintendent or the Ergea Helpdesk as appropriate. 9. To report accidents / untoward incidents / hazards to the Superintendent Radiographer as soon as possible, ensuring completion of the Incident Report Form.
10. To undertake any reasonable duty that may arise which will assist the smooth running of the Radiology Service following appropriate discussions. 11. To work flexibly to cover annual leave and sickness absence, working additional sessions as agreed.
12. Maintain fitness to practice with the Professional Code of Conduct through Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and mandatory training (Fire, Infection Control, Manual Handling, Information Governance and CPR). 13. To be familiar with relevant Health and Safety policies.
14. To participate in Health & Safety risk assessments, following appropriate training. 15. To wear the uniform provided and to always promote the Radiology Directorate in a positive manner.
