What will I be doing?

Assist with preparation of batteries and equipment for trials, disposals and proof

Assist with the firing of trials, disposals and proof as required

Assist with post-preparation of batteries and equipment following activities, including cleaning and returning of stores

Carry out area/stop-gate sentry duties when required

Assist the Foreman with road closures when required

Ensure you comply with instructions within Risk Assessments, Task Instructions and Trials paperwork

Carry out CFFE inspections of ammunition packaging and Range Ammunition Salvage in accordance with relevant procedures
Undertake and supervise tasks for which you are competent as set by Range Foreman/Responsible Person

Responsible for the safe operation of any vehicle or plant for which you have a licence and are required to operate, and maintain driver logs

Support the establishment on any task other than trials/disposals for which you are competent

Essential Education, Qualifications and Training

Good Level of General Education (GCSE grade C or above, NVQ or similar)

Full clean manual UK car driving licence

IT literate, able to utilise various systems including MS Office and Outlook

What do I need?

Working knowledge of Range Procedures and Range Standing Orders would be an advantage

Carry out Roles and Responsibilities as defined in the Site Emergency Plan

Knowledge of tri service munitions would be an advantage

Be proficient with radio communications and the use of the phonetic alphabet would be an advantage

Have good communication skills (both written and oral) and service provision/customer focussed.

Experience in the use of Hand tools

Support of other QinetiQ Ranges and be willing to travel

Have a ‘hands on’ attitude.

Be adaptable and willing to work flexible hours.

Essential Education, Qualifications and Training

Good Level of General Education (GCSE grade C or above, NVQ or similar)

Full clean manual UK car driving licence

IT literate, able to utilise various systems including MS Office and Outlook

Desirable Qualifications

Forklift Truck Certificate

ADR class 1 certification

Please note that all applicants must be eligible for SC clearance as a minimum.
