**Job overview**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the consistently top-performing Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrine centres in the UK, as a Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrine Consultant (10 PA). You will join 4 existing Consultants (3 WTE NHS, 1 WTE NHS/University) and 1 Associate Specialist in Paediatric Diabetes, Safeguarding and General Paediatrics (0.5 WTE) and the accompanying multi-disciplinary team, to provide specialist paediatric diabetes and endocrine services for the children and young people of Nottinghamshire and the wider East Midlands region.

We host the regional trauma centre and all major tertiary paediatric specialities (including Tier 3 obesity services), with the exception of paediatric cardiac surgery. We have an extensive research portfolio in paediatric diabetes and endocrinology and excellent links with the adult diabetes and endocrinology services and the University of Nottingham.

**Experience**:

- Has completed specialist training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Endocrinology as specified by the RCPCH Endocrinology and Diabetes CSAC, or training assessed to be equivalent by the GMC.
- Experience and specialist training in insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring/flash glucose monitoring and hybrid closed loop systems
- Experience and training in management of children of all acute and chronic endocrine and diabetes disorders
- Awareness and experience of child protection processes

**Desirable criteria**:

- Paediatric Endocrine Fellowship
- Specific training in patient safety and/or human factors
