**The Role**

We are looking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational Subject Leader for Music. The position will suit an experienced Music teacher with some experience of Subject Leadership. The Music department has been recently refurbished with its own practice rooms and office.

**Some of your key responsibilities will include**:

- Be accountable for student progress and development within the department.
- Be innovative in your own teaching and to develop and enhance the teaching practice of others.
- Take a lead in planning collaboratively with colleagues in order to promote effective practice.
- Ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum for all students.
- Be accountable for leading, managing and developing curriculum, assessment and teaching within the department.
- Effectively manage and deploy teaching/support staff, financial and physical resources within the department to support the designated curriculum portfolio.

- Qualified Teacher Status
- Ability to teach "outstanding" lessons in Music
- Ability to develop and implement a high quality broad and balanced curriculum
- A proven track record in monitoring and improving student attainment
- A passion for teaching, developing and training staff within the curriculum area and making a real difference to young people
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
