Brook Street have a fantastic opportunity to work within the **Southend Magistrates Courts** to join their busy fast paced Fixed Penalty department.
We are recruiting for **Fines Officer**, this role will be taking on various duties - you must have great attention to detail, be able to work in a fast pace environment and good IT skills.
The key purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to HMCTS.
**Pay - £11.28 PH**
**Location - Southend**
**FULL TIME HOURS**
**Mon - Fri, 8:30 - 4:30**
**Temporary role - long term ongoing**
Main duties will include:
- Provide administration support as required / answering general queries
- Supervise post opening/floor walker
- To receipt, balance, bring to account and bank all monies paid
- To process driving licences, correspondence and reports in respect of fixed penalties, camera detected and similar offences and including Penalty Notices for Disorder and Diplomatic FPN's.
- To process payments allocated to the suspense account.
- To monitor and update suspended cases from computer reports.
- To process refunds, cheques and payments as authorised.
- To input, locate and retrieve data from computer systems and prepare appropriate papers.
- To check, validate and amend computer held data,
- To deal effectively with all public enquiries and liaise with the
- To undertake a range of general office duties, including
- Answering switchboard/telephones
- Use a range of computer software and hardware
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail
- Letter writing
- Basic stock control
- Collection of a range of statistical data
- Respond to complaints in line with the guidance.
