Rough Sleeper Navigator

**FIXED TERM 18 MONTHS**: 37 hours per week
**SALARY**: £27,344 - £30,151
**LOCATION**: Tiverton

We are looking for two individuals with a strong customer focus to work as Rough Sleeper Navigators within our Housing Options team. Playing a crucial role in the resettlement of rough sleepers, providing a comprehensive service to a caseload of clients who are currently sleeping rough or who have a recent history of rough sleeping in Mid Devon. You will also play a vital role in supporting our people in temporary accommodation to help them move on into alternative accommodation.

Building trust and providing person centred advocacy and support which enables clients to navigate pathways and progress towards a life away from the streets.

Undertaking assertive street outreach sessions and hot spot visits, including during unsocial hours, to engage with people sleeping rough from their first point of contact and encouraging long-term change. You will be based at Phoenix House with regular business travel to other sites within Mid Devon District Council’s remit.

We’re looking for individuals with experience of working with homeless people who understands the needs of rough sleepers, and who have the resilience to work flexibly and creatively with individuals with complex needs. You will be confident to work as part of a team as well as being self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
