Are you passionate about academic publishing and possess strong team management skills? Are you an exceptional Manager with a deep understanding of the scholarly publishing landscape? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join a global professional membership body to work on their highly prestigious open access journals, across their wide-ranging engineering and technology portfolio, as their new Executive Editor. This role offers hybrid working from their prestigious offices in Hertfordshire 2 days a week and 3 days working from home. The office is a very commutable distance from London.

The Executive Editor will manage a team of 5, and will be responsible for the development of the journals, including special issue programme and editorial board development.

**Some of the core responsibilities will include**:

- Managing, leading, and developing the journals team
- Setting, developing, and implementing the portfolio and delivering on KPIs for market share, key metrics, reputation and customer services
- Launching new journals and setting and implementing commissioning and Editorial Board recruitment strategies for newly launched titles
- Contribute to Research Integrity investigations and procedures
- Work closely with the Journal Development and Marketing teams on content strategies and to increase article submissions across the portfolio

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with demonstrable experience in STM journal publishing, with strong knowledge of the scholarly publishing landscape, and experience of managing journal publishing teams, and a strong track record of achieving results. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with authors and stakeholders, and possess a track record of successful journal management, including experience with editorial workflows, key bibliographic databases, with a passion for open access, open data, and open science.
