Routes to Work South are committed to working with partner agencies to deliver a flexible, accessible, client-centered service that will support local people who are unemployed to progress and sustain employment, support local employers, and link opportunity and need.
An award-winning company, RTWS are committed to alleviating poverty through delivery of a range of innovative employability and skills services. As an arm’s length external organisation, we have a key role in the delivery of services that support South Lanarkshire Council’s Employability Strategy.
For over 20 years the company has successfully tendered for a variety of welfare to work programmes, securing funding from several sources including Skills Development Scotland and the Department for Work and Pensions as well as grant funding from the Big Lottery and European Structural Funds, to support South Lanarkshire residents and businesses.
The company currently delivers the Scottish Government’s Fair Start Scotland Programme throughout South Lanarkshire and delivers services to young people and adults supported by Scottish Government’s No One Left Behind (NOLB) and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
**WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?**
Due to recent expansion within our team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Community Wellbeing Advisor. Your role will focus on targeting economically inactive people and those further removed from the labour market through local community engagement. You will play a key role in the initial engagement, assessment, registration, and pre-employability support for these clients.
**MAIN AIMS**
- As Community Wellbeing Advisor, you will achieve targets and KPI's to engage economically inactive South Lanarkshire residents.
- Through community engagement you will promote and encourage economically inactive people to engage in services
- You will be innovative in your approach to engage people onto programme by approaching people in local communities, attending targeted locations, liaising with frontline community partners, and organising hobby-based / wellbeing activities to engage local people.
- You will deliver a range of community events, group sessions and presentations that will provide a menu of available opportunities to economically inactive and unemployed South Lanarkshire residents.
- Through initial engagement and assessment of needs, you will provide a bespoke individualised service improving health, wellbeing, skills, and training.
- You will meet ongoing contractual compliance requirements including accurately completing all paperwork and input to a bespoke database.
**DUTIES**
- As Community Wellbeing Advisor, you will deliver personal targets and KPI's and contribute to team targets and KPI's in line with the performance management framework.
- You will provide information, advice, and guidance about a range of issues such as housing, money, health, and substance misuse, in partnership with specialist agencies.
- You will support clients to access the most appropriate additional services required, signposting and referring to alternative services.
- You will support the design and delivery of group training where appropriate with a particular focus on bespoke activity to meet client needs.
- You will capture and record accurate information and input it into bespoke database in line with company quality standard;
- You will deliver and maintain a quality service at all times in line with RTWS Customer Service Standards Policy and Procedures.
- You should be aware of the confidential nature of information received, and act at all times within the boundaries of GDPR.
- You will carry out any other duties in line with organisational requirements.

Knowledge of local labour market intelligence.
Knowledge of the health care sector and of support services/local partner agencies for clients furthest removed from the labour market.
Experience working in partnership with statutory organisations, local authorities, businesses, and the 3rd Sector
Experience of networking and partnership working.
Experience of mentoring clients.
Ability to encourage, persuade and motivate.
Target and performance driven to achieve KPI’s
Flexibility to cope with the varying demands of the role and achieve the desired result
