Job Overview: As a One-to-One Learning Support Assistant, your primary role is to provide individualized support and assistance to students with specific learning needs. Working closely with teachers and other educational professionals, you will help facilitate the academic, social, and emotional development of the assigned student. Your supportive presence and personalized approach will contribute to creating an inclusive and conducive learning environment.

**Responsibilities**:
Student Support: Provide one-to-one support and guidance to an assigned student with specific learning needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and learning materials effectively.

Academic Assistance: Assist the student with understanding and completing class assignments, homework, and other academic tasks. Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate the student's learning style and pace.

Personalized Learning Plans: Collaborate with the classroom teacher and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to implement and follow individualised learning plans for the student.

Behavior and Emotional Support: Help manage the student's behavior and emotional responses, implementing appropriate strategies for positive reinforcement and conflict resolution when necessary.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the student's progress, behavior, and any significant observations. Communicate progress reports to teachers, parents, and relevant school staff.

Communication: Foster effective communication between the student, teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to ensure everyone is informed about the student's progress and any concerns.

Classroom Integration: Support the student's participation in classroom activities, ensuring they are included in group work, discussions, and extracurricular activities.

Assistive Technology: Utilise appropriate assistive technology and resources to enhance the student's learning experience and accessibility.

Supervision: Provide appropriate supervision and assistance during break times, lunch periods, and other non-academic activities to ensure the student's safety and well-being.

Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to enhance knowledge and skills related to supporting students with specific learning needs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs is preferred.
- A caring and patient demeanor, with the ability to build a positive and supportive relationship with the student.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with teachers, parents, and other school staff.
- Understanding of various learning difficulties and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Knowledge of different assistive technologies and resources for students with learning needs.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and progress reports.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the student and the school environment.
